Pull product images from another server?

Is there anyway I can pull the product images from another server. The server my product images are on is a different server than the server my zen-cart store is on. Is this doable?

I have tried setting the DIR_WS_IMAGES in the includes/configure.php file to the path of the images on the other server, but this does not seem to work? Any explanation or solution would be appreciated. :smile:

I guess that the DIR_WS_IMAGES has a full path associated with it ie var/www/vhosts/hostname.com/zencart/

So if I am putting a url in after the define, it is doing something like:
var/www/vhosts/hostname.com/zencart/http://otherserver.com/images/

so I guess my question is, can I somehow overwrite this path, and instead put in a URL to another server?

is there a way to make zen cart get images from another server because all my products i import use a csv file, which says: http://sjgksbgjsgsgsgsdghsjgd/images/whatever.jpg/

and i can download the images from my dropshipper and put them on my server but this is time consuming and a waste of space, can i just make zen cart set the product image path to the url i provide in the csv i import?
so instead of myshop/images/
it just gets them direct.

How can I go about changing the source path to where product images are stored? I am going to invoke a process of submitting/updating products and images on a separate server than which zen-cart resides.

Can I expect any security or permission settings within zen-cart prohibit me from fetching product images from a different web server?

Zen Cart's infrastructure is presently written in such a way that it expects the file to exist on the local filesystem. It doesn't currently support externally-stored files.
