Zen Cart with XAMPP install problem

I have installed XAMPP, which has install and configured PHP, MYSQL and Apache, but when in the Prerequisites section on the Zen Cart install im getting MSQL Support = Off

I have checked the PHP_Mysql.dll connectors are present, which they are and also the php.ini file for the extension path, which is also correct.

Any ideas??? this is really frustrating me know have been trying for 2 days

FIXED IT! w00t

Stopped the Apache Service
Ran PHP Swith (changed to PHP 4)
Started Apache Service

All is good

Hey Billett.. Thanks! got further with the zencart install in an xampp environment, but still have probs with php GD support issues... your thoughts? Thanks in advance.
