Visa Electron codes accepted by CC module of ZC!

Visa Electron codes are accepted by CC module of ZC and that is not allowed by the law! You have to see the person using the card. How can I disable Visa Electron but accept normal credit card VISA and Mastercard? This is urgent!

You would need to find the mod10 algorithm for those cards and then use it to exclude them. Where is it documented that card can only be used in person?

I know personally of several shops that have been accepting Electron cards (through established UK payment gateways and high-street banks) for several years without any mention of that requirement. If you browse the web for UK websites you'll see it's quite common.

I'd be interested to know where you came across that also. :smile:

Well, here in Scandinavia seems physically impossible as well since the machine takes the VISA Electron only by "touching" it, not by entering the number serie of the card. And it checks the amounts electronically on that very second that the customer has money on his/her account. Also the rules provided by the authorities are pretty clear on this.

There are some payment gateways indeed that would check the things online on the authorities site that acknowledges the card usage but that would need a separate module for ZC and I do not possess one of that kind of module.

Perhaps that is a (particularly) Scandinavian requirement then?

The checking is done by the payment gateway - at least it is here in the UK - you do not need an additional module for Zen to do it. The payment gateway links directly into the bank systems.
