Handling Charge for all International?

Is there a way to setup a flat rate handling charge on all international orders?

I have the UPS and USPS modules setup for international shipping. I also use the flat rate module but only for the United States.

could you enter the amount in the Handling charge on the UPS and USPS? :smile:

I don't think so, if I enter a handling charge there it will charge it to domestic (USA) customers too. It is only applicable for orders outside the USA.

I thought you said you used UPS and USPS for international ...

Sorry I wasn't clear. USPS, UPS and Flat Rate options are used for Domestic. The flat rate only works in the United States Zone. So UPS and USPS are used for both domestic and international.

You could customize the usps.php and ups.php to manage different handling charges based on national or international shipping address ...

How would one go about doing this, Ajeh? I'd like to charge a small handling fee for all non-US based transactions as well. I use USPS but I'm sure UPS will be a very similar hack :)

I'd peek around the Modules and find one that referrences the International and National ...

Then I'd use some similar logic to alter the Handling charge in the UPS and USPS modules ... :smile:

So.. if you want it strictly for USA.. here's the code for the USPS module (view that thread to see where to change it)

Next I suppose I should re-write all the shipping modules to manage separate handling charges so no one has to think ... :cool:

Adding flexibility to the shipping modules for an extra fee would be great. I love it when I don't have to think this hard. :)
