Allowing the customer to delete / edit address book entries

Hello,

I have a client that wishes to have more features on the "change shipping addres" page - more of a user profile page where they can edit their shipping addresses and possibly also their billing information.

I searched far and wide on here and didn't see anything regarding this. Has anyone come across a way to do some of these kinds of things?

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Allowing the customer to delete / edit address book entries

Have you installed at looked at the Zen Cart program at all? All of the address book entries and customer information is editable.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Re: Allowing the customer to delete / edit address book entries

Yes, I have installed and configured several Zen Carts. What I'm speaking about is the ability for the customer to edit their addresses - I know it can be done via the admin panel but I need that functionality for the customer as well.

Right now a customer can only add a new address or pick from an existing one - is there an easy way to add the ability for customers to edit/delete existing shipping addresses?

Re: Allowing the customer to delete / edit address book entries

The ability to edit all of their addresses is a built-in feature, which can be accessed from the "My Account" area after the customer has logged in.

If you have removed that link, you might consider putting it back on your site.

Dr - thank you! This must have been removed as the cart was customized.

I appreciate your help.

Hi Everyone,

I do not want the customer to be able to edit or delete the Address Book Entries on the My Personal Address Book page.

I want to completely remove the mouseover link and the Edit & Delete Buttons.

I looked at address_book.php, but my question was not answered there.

ELMSTREET:

Try making this value to one admin --> configuration --> Maximum Values --> Address Book Entries to 1 instead of 5 this will fix it were they cannot add more then one but can make it editable.

Or you can edit the file includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_account_default.php

Around line 60 comment out the line

<?php echo ' <a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ADDRESS_BOOK, '', 'SSL') . '">' . MY_ACCOUNT_ADDRESS_BOOK . '</a>'; ?>

Just like below

<?php //echo ' <a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ADDRESS_BOOK, '', 'SSL') . '">' . MY_ACCOUNT_ADDRESS_BOOK . '</a>'; ?>

Be sure </li> and </li> are removed so you do not have those dot markers on your page.

Then place this file inside your over rides template folder for protection against over writing in the future for upgrades.

https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=142 will get you started on the over ride system
