Cannot send html e-mails or newsletters

In the admin's send newsletter and e-mail area I paste my html into the rich text box and send it - the preview looks correct with the formatted text and photos. But it arrives in my inbox as a string of plain text and no photos.

Anyone have this problem? I am on a windows server and must use smtpauth. I can paste the same html into my e-mail and send it and it works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Send MIME HTML Email .... if this is false, the HTML portion of emails is ignored.

I think I did resolve the issue. It had more to do with the admin e-mail than with ZenCart.

I ended up sending the newsletter out and holding my breathe and when it arrived in my Hotmail it was html. When it arrived in my admin e-mail it displayed the simple text version. So I think all is well and that my admin e-mail does not accept html e-mails and that is the real issue.

I have the same problem:

Emails sent to the administrator from the ZenCart Tools Send Email function arrive as plain text and images missing. The same emails addressed to customers appear as html complete with images.

In the Admin Configuration, Email Options, I have ""Email Admin Format" set to html.

My Administrator email system DOES ACCEPT HTML so I don't understand why this is ocurring. I want to include the Administrator account for any promotional emails we send out so that we can confirm how they look to the customer.

As a workaround I created a customer account in my own name with a personal email address (which by the way, goes to the same domain and email server as the Administrator email). Instead of addressing a copy to the Administrator, I send a copy to myself.

There appears to be something unique associated with the Administrator email address, possible a flag to turn off html to this address?

It was set to HTML, however I just changed it to TEXT and tried again.
Same results:
email to administrator displays plain text only
email to a customer email address displays as html

I presume the correct setting for Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Email Admin Format is html so will reset it back to html.

The text editor used is HTLMarea
