Need More Than One Category in a Row

Hi,

The cateogries on the site I am working on sells music (yes still working on that one!) and the categories are going to just be Single letters or s small group of letters, i.e. A, B, C-F, etc.

They look awful in the cateogries sidebox like that. Is there any way to have more than one category in a row? For example a setting to place 3 categories in a row instead of one?

thank you,

betty

No, that is not a stock option.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Does that mean that it also isn't a customizable option?

thank you,

Zen Cart is Open Source, and as such you can customize any feature that you might want.

I'm well aware that it is open source.

I wasn't looking for sarcasm, I was looking for replies like:

Yes, it can be customized using the file includes/modules/....etc or includes/templates/..etc.

Or no, it is not possible to customize this sidebox in the current version of Zencart.

Sorry kobra, I must have missed the post saying that we couldn't ask questions we didn't know the answer to - even though we did search for it prior to posting. Next time I'll stay with the posting trend of asking the same question that has been asked again and again, and not bother to search before I ask it.

I was not intending to be sarcastic at all...and thought that the question that you asked was being answered.....

This would require being "Hard Coded" and changing the creation functions of categories.php and tpl_categories.php and would break or disable the alteration of an existing entry and the addition of an additional category through the admin.

So if you will never add or change these this could work...if you intend on maintaining the ability to alter this from the admin this would be more than difficult.

I'm sure I leaped before absorbing your response. Maybe I should add a PMS/Hot Flash line to my signature

What threw me off in Kim's reply was the work "stock" which in my feeble mind says it doesn't come that way, and may be able to be modified. Thus my second question.

From what you described would need to be done, maybe I'll just make a flash or javascript menu instead and turn off the categories box and use it in a blank sidebox.

thank you for the clarification
