Customer Details - Require Logon Problems

My client wants Zen Cart set up where you can only look at the shopping cart if you are signed in. I have figured out how to enable this option on the Customer Details page. HOWEVER...

Now, every page on the site requires a login to view, regardless of whether or not it is rendered within the Zen Cart software. How can I fix this? Here is the site I am working on:

You will notice that most of the links on the left navigation bar are not a part of the site yet they nevertheless go right to the login page when you click on the link.

You home link is giving a 404 but the rest of your links seem to work more or less as expected. Do you still have the problem?

yes. I realized that it was because i was including application_top.php in the non-cart pages. I turned off the require log in setting and hopefully the client will be ok with that.
