No images in admin. Messed up catalog display.

Another new user.

My admin only shows question mark boxes for all images in admin when viewing in Safari. In Firefox, the page is REALLY long with lots of space between evey item, and no images.

My catalog display is also really long, and reallt wide. I have to scroll way down to get to anything and way right to get right side of page.

Sorry if this is the wrong area, I figured this would fall under Installing since it is a new install.

Thanks

As a new install ... I would reload the files to rule out bad, corrupt and missing files ...

Did you get Zen Cart from our downloads link then load the files yourself?

Re: No images in admin. Messed up catalog display.

Thanks for the reply.

I did download directly from this site. Some information I left out is that I had the same problem trying to use OSCommerce. I then tried Zencart and had this similar problem. So I don't think it is a corrupt file problem. I would rather not re-install just yet, but I will if there aren't any other ideas.

Thanks again

Re: No images in admin. Messed up catalog display.

Most of the time when weird things happen on a clean install it is the result of problems with the upload of the files via FTP ...

Some bad, missing or corrupt files throw nice nasty looking errors ...

Others, silently do not run and you get all kinds of weird functionality or lack there of happening ...

This is often why we first suggest the reload of the files ...

Also check your two files for:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

that are on the server and ensure all of the settings are correct ...

That is an important piece on information and probably means your hosting is not adequate.

Re: No images in admin. Messed up catalog display.

I will try reinstalling, but it will be a day or so before I am able. In the mean time here is my basic hosting info, anything obvious missing? (I just realized I am probably in the wrong forum also..Linux server, sorry, I will repost over there)
I am also having my hosting company support look at there end of it.

Server OS: Linux 2.6.8-022stab067.1-enterprise
Database: MySQL 3.23.58
PHP Version: 4.3.2 (Zend: 1.3.0)
HTTP Server: Apache/2.0.46 (Red Hat)

Thanks.

Re: No images in admin. Messed up catalog display.

I just reinstalled using Fetch instead of R Browser to upload files. It works now!

Thanks for the help, hopefully it will go smoother from here.
