Paypal Payment received, no order showing in admin

Hi - urgent help needed,

I have received a payment from an individual however, no order has been created for the payment -

no email was sent to confirm the order.
I do not see the order in the admin
when I click on the individuals profile it shows that they have not placed any orders.

However, the money is there!

In Modules, Order Total - OT_TOTAL is installed

I have been successfully receiving payments from the website previously to this

I am using zencart version 1.3.6

What is going on??

Any changes what so ever?

Absolutly no changes or upgrades.

Everything was working fine until the last payment.

I searched for what should of been the order number but it does not appear to be there.

Should I download the paypal session viewer?

I just did a test on my website.

I purchased an item and paid for it with paypal. All worked fine and the order showed up with the order number that should of been assigned to the previous order which did not appear in the admin area.

In the last few days I have also made no changes whatsoever to my paypal account.

PayPal is in doing system upgrades today and tomorrow. It's possible that you may have run into problems caused by these upgrades.

The symptoms you describe are all typical of cases where the IPN notification from PayPal fails to be sent to your website in order to release the order.

However, I like to keep my mods to a minimum.

It is a variation of the paypal session viewer that Dr.Byte wrote.

I like to keep my Mods installed to a minimum though.

The PayPal sessions viewer may be of some help.
You could also try simply refunding a penny and see what happens.
Did you turn on the debugging system and check the details of what's happening related to what PayPal is or is not sending back to your server?

Let's turn it on and see what it tells us. You'll have to mark the "logs" folder as read/write, as outlined in the troubleshooting document referenced above.

Paypal debug is now turned on.

My File /includes/modules/payment/paypal/logs is now marked to CHMOD 777

That looks like it either came from someone manually accessing your ipn_main_handler.php file with their browser.

Nevertheless, that particular debug notice doesn't pertain to a transaction made at your online store.

I guess I should resign to this being a paypal issue and not a zencart bug?

hey guys, we have had that exact same problem once or twice...it's been really aggravating. I haven't learned much about it yet, but thanks for the logfile tip. I'm going to set that up and see if I can learn anything!

We're using a v1.3.8 build.
