Workable versions for mods, etc.

I've just put up a zen cart. Reviewing the downloads section it appears there are release versions 1.3.0 to 1.3.6. My concern is whether the earlier release versions will work inside the most recent 1.3.6.

Will I be bound to using 1.3.6 versions only with the 1.3.6 or can I use 1.3.0 modules within the 1.3.6 installed site?

Sorry, if this is a dumb question. I've not had a lot of time to work with the Zen and my schedule is a little time for getting this site operational.

It depends on the module. Some 1.3 modules work fine with 1.3.6. Some modules from earlier 1.2 versions also work with 1.3.6 with no problem. Others (e.g. stock by attributes) that get down and dirty with core Zen Cart code need to be updated for each new release and it would be very inadvisable to mismatch the mod and the version of Zen Cart.

The supported mods generally have support threads which discuss these issues for the specific mod each time a new release of Zen Cart appears. If you use the forum's advanced search facility you can specify a minimum number of responses. Type a mods name and put a minimum of 20 (say) responses and if there's a support thread it will usually leap out at you.
