Not a dumb question - but it's a good idea to browse the faq if you're just getting started.

Re: DUMB question of the month - right here

Due to the nature of web servers ... we have removed the old slow method and rebuilt a new, more reliable method ...

As it does not work on 100% of all servers due to configuration issues, instead of adding it to the core of Zen Cart we have created a plug-n-play add-on that you can just copy to your site and it will automatically load on the Tools Menu ...

You will find it in the downloads in the Admin Tools ...

Note: if you are familiar with osC and the slow, huge backups that it creates, it will surprize you the speed and reduced size of the Backups MySQL add-on ...

Thanks much - will do.

Having problems though with importing my OSC database [critical issue] into the Zen database - been reading posts and trying some of the suggestions but having a really hard time with it - - any magic available??

Anyway, Happy Holidays to all, hope to get this running and be around for a while, providing amusement and entertainment - LOL

Hi chops,
OSC DB wont just import in,
you have to do quite a bit of modification to get it to install.

In the Archives there is a script to update osc to zen 1.2.x
you can do that then run the migration scripts from 1.2 to 1.36

Greetz Merlin - been reading your posts and, indeed you are right.

I am really loving the look and feel of Zen and think that I just might "bite the bullet" and just input my products as there are not that many of them - only about 300 - the main thing is I'll be using alot more downloadable media and ridding many of the current products anyway - still need to evaluate a bit though.

Would have really loved to get my customers in there - how would one go about putting up a new store as far as the existing customers are concerned?

Thanks again for your response, I've read so many of your posts this morning that I feel as if we are "old friends" - LOL :lamo:

Re: DUMB question of the month - right here

Merlin, would you or anyone else know the link to OSC import script or the script name?

Have looked around the various areas of the Downloads section but cannot seem to find it.

The learning is in the doing.
