cross sell advanced problem

i've added the code to the two files and now when i try to view an item i get this error.

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/tgecard1/public_html/catalog/includes/languages/english/tgecards/product_info.php on line **1

**i've checked to see if there are any spaces at the end of the php and there aren't. are there any other reasons i would get this error?

Did you install the sql patch??

yes i did install the sql patch. but i can only install the first 2 sections of it. even when i do that i have gotten cross sell to work properly. it's just with this installation that's giving me problems.
