Sending email by order date

We had an overload of orders this month, and a lot of the later orders from the last few weeks are going to be backed up a few weeks. Would like to send an email to everyone who has ordered since a partiulcar date (sort of like the "active in last 3 months" email) to update everyone on the issues. I haven't found this option anywhere in zencart or the forums, anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Brandon

Re: Sending email by order date

A good way to handle this would be to add a new SQL field that PHP could depend on with microtime. This way, from the admin section, you could specify the number of days or month before a global email could be sent.

Is this the kind of feature you're looking for to have ?

Re: Sending email by order date

Zen Cart has an admin option to e-mail customers that are:

Active customers in past 3 months (Regardless of subscription status)for example (at "admin :: Tools :: Send emails", or something like that)

Not sure what the definition of "Active customers" is here, but the the sql is stored in the database, so you could take a look at that (don't know the table name right now, but if you browse the db using phpMyAdmin it's easy to find). You can edit those queries and/or add queries to this table, and they will appear as an option in the dropdown when using the email and/or newsletter features.

Re: Sending email by order date

that's the "query_builder" table

... and you can use existing entries to build models for additional options as new records in the table
