Product attributes and filters

I have such problem. In my shop I have the category "Tents". When I enter to this categry, I want to see two drag boxes : "Number of places" and "Membrane". Visitor can choose in the first box number of places and see all the tents with such attributes. Can you show me where I can find information about filter creation?
