Using Zencart to checkout only

Hello,

I am fairly new to using the Zen-cart and I am wondering if anyone can point me to documentation or a tutorial on the code of zencart. I am looking to use it only for the checkout capabilities. All of my pages are going to be hand coded and designed and I want to be able to process to a variety of different processors.

Maybe I am wrong, anyone have any ideas on what to do here?? Should I just create my own processors depending on the situation??

ZC is a complete package,
and is not designed to be used in pieces

Zen Cart is not designed to be just a checkout.

Another question I had to Zencart.. I have a site that currently is using Zencart and a part of the site has a page where they can send items as a gift. The choices are listed on that page.

The question is: How do I take the input from that page and have it flow into the shopping cart without having the user to input the information again??
