Display price/add to cart - show price only?

I am a total newbie but this caught my eye. Ironically I need to turn the price off and have only the add to cart button active! Does anyone know if this is possible?

Why would I want to go shopping and add things to my cart when I don't know how much they are? :unsure:

I need to set up a shopping cart only because all of the prices vary. My client wants folks to browse a catalog and add items to a shopping cart that can then be emailed to someone who will call back with a quote. I need to incorporate this functionality into a Joomla! site. There is a bridge call Cartage that will allow me to bring Zen Cart into my Joomla! site.

I have discovered that there are no extensions approximating this in Joomla!, and Virtuemart appears to have decomposed (sigh). If my coding skills were higher I would add a cart to YOOtheme's ZOO catalogue system (it is very pretty).

On the Quote system ... this can be customized to turn a Zen Cart shop into a Quote system in the concept of:

Customer adds to cart all these products that show no prices and then the checkout would work with a Quote Payment Module of sorts to get through the checkout ... then you call and complete the order over the phone ...

If the whole cart is setup as a Quote Only shop, this is easier to write than if you want to do both selling and Quoting ...

If you want to do selling and quoting and the actual payment/shipping that gets into another large amount of coding ...

But, if you want your whole shop to be just a Quote method, while it does take some customized coding it is not an impossible task, by any means ...

Hi linda can you tell me how i can have the add and qty box along with the price in the product listing page for both the products with attributes as well as without. Currently i get price and more info for products with attributes and qty box and price for products without attributes.

You can't have an add button in the listing when options need to be selected, as only the product info page is set up to handle them. You would need to do some advanced customization to handle attributes in the listing page. Some people have done it, and there is a mod called "options on product listing" - see the drop down attributes at product listing page near add to cart button. thread, especially post 26 & following.

NO i think you misunderstood me i just want that for products which have attributes and which do not have attributes the product listing page looks same that is it displays the price and the qty box i do not want to display attributes in the listing page

You can't have just the add & qty box in the listing for products with attributes, because options need to be selected before you can add to cart.
That's not a code limitation, it's a logical necessity.

yea i tried to explain that to my client but he just want it to be like that :frusty:

The only practical option would be to change the "...more info" to look like the add button, and minimize the product info page to just the attributes and a "finalize add" button. Does your client not want standard product info pages, or does he just want the add button everywhere?

There is an admin setting for "customer must log in to see prices".
Configuration > Customer Details >
Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices
Customer must be approved to shop
0= Not required
1= Must login to browse
2= May browse but no prices unless logged in
3= Showroom Only

I am selling an item available in 5 preset quantities:

How would I set up the product listing / any other settings to NOT show price or qty box but instead allow me to list qtys@prices. For example:

Widget:

50 @ £100
100 @ £200
250 @ £400
etc......

I know I can set these in attributes with tick boxes next to each qty/price level but not sure how to 'hide' the MAIN price and Qty info.

Also I need to be able to do this on an product by product basis not just a global setting. :)

hi, I'm having trouble displaying my "add to cart" button. It was there before, I'm sure, as I've got a product in my test shopping cart, but now the button has disappeared

I've tried turning off display multiple products qty box, and have tried 1 and 2 for the Display Add to Cart button under the Configuration, Product Listing, but it makes no difference.

Is there somewhere else I should be looking??

You have "buy now" buttons showing in your product listing pages. Is it the "Latest Wines" section you are talking about? That does not have add buttons, just a link to the product info page for each product.

I figured it. I had turned off the add to cart option under the product type (catalog). When I turned it back on they were all there again. Still not sure how I got all my products under that product type to start with, but hey, now I know it's there and what it's for.

I would like to display my "add to cart" button. It was there before, if I have only one product it shows , however if I more than one product the button disappeared.
Now it show in the bottom of the page add selected products to cart, in text format , many customer send question how to add to cart, as it is not easy to see on the bottom of the page.

You currently have the "add selected products to cart" link at top and bottom of your product listing. Are you sure you turned that off at the same time as setting the individual add buttons?
