Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

I tend to have a different problem. I selected mine to do two columns, and list at least 6 products per page, but when it returns to the next row, the products overlap on top of the first row? Also, I can't seem to get mine to switch back-n-forth from rows to columns, in the Products Listing display.

I'd like to try the designer monthly boxes too. However, I would like to get this working. As well, I would like the purchase information listed next to the image with the Quantity/add to cart and not below it in the listing....Please help...any ideas? The overlapping is my main concern.

thanks,
Kinget

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

FYI

If you want (Add To Cart) button display for each product under category view, you'll need to:

Admin->Configuration->Product Listing->Display Multiple Products Qty Box Status and Set Button Location "0"

The rest are pretty obvious.

If I want to download this module, logically, I would go to download page... and then I would start to wonder: WHERE do I go next? If only there would be a search field to find the particular module...

I too wish there was a way to search the module listings to find things easier!

I have searched and searched but can't seem to find where this mod is to download. Would someone be able to link it to me please?

Thanks, sorry if it's in an obvious place... 16 hours of configuration has fried my brain :blink:

rhutchison:

I'm finding something odd when I try to use the Column Layout Grid. Everything installed fine, but products were not showing in columns. When I try switching from 3 columns to 2 columns I see that the description field changes width, so something is happening.

I'm having a similar problem; I get only one column regardless of how many columns I assign. If I put "1" column, the products center. As I increase the number of columns, the image, name, etc move to the left in varying stages.

So far, I have removed the module and re-installed to rule out installation problems. Have read the threads about padding/widths, messed around with my CSS to no avail. I suspect it is something staring me in the face, but can't see it. Any suggestions?

I'm using version 1.3.7. I need this mod in order to align my photographs into a tidy grid-format for quick viewing and click-through. Here is a link:

p.s. still working on colors, etc. commentary welcome!

Well I cant find it either, should have linked to it to assist us slow witted people. :(

Been searching for roughly 30 mins. Cant find it amongst downloads and it seems you cant search through the downloads. :(

I'll keep looking... but help would be appreciated.

Googled and found;

But it links to an out dated location.

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

I'm also having to not use the features, specials, etc. on the main page, because it overlaps on the products. Also, I made the change suggested for the "add cart" but still no cart button, it just gives me a quantity button. I'd like the descriptions to be along the left side of the image instead of underneath. I'm hoping that maybe the design boxes would help resolve this issue, but am almost afraid to add it. I've managed to just turn certain areas off, and live with it for now without certain features and it seems to get along with just two columns -- since I'm using larger images in the cart, it works okay...but I would really like to resolve the overlapping issue. I've determined that the overlapping may also be fixed in the css area in certain areas, but unsure what to look for...any clues? If there is now an update to this module, that I'm unaware of...please let me know.

Thanks,
Kinget

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

I love this contribtuion, thanks for the author - BUT, in setting the products to be in a column-format, it the "sorting" headers disappear, I need to sort by a variety of things, price, name, date inserted, etc. Would it be easy to add those sorting options in as text links?

I had a similar problem in this forum elsewhere and had received those same results. We found the error was in the style sheet I was using as suggested by Jettrue. Look for this code and make sure these all float "left" --

#logo, .centerBoxContents, .specialsListBoxContents, .categoryListBoxContents, .centerBoxContentsAlsoPurch, .attribImg {
	float: left;
	}

There are a few places that I notice where the style sheets do affect this module. However, I would like to find a way for the columns to also be displayed in "All products", "New products" and "Featured products" -- any clues? Or does anyone think that maybe the designer boxes module may work in addition with no conflicts...does anyone know this?

Thanks so much,
Kinget

Thanks Diet coke....
BTW....where do you get that to work on the "All products" "featured products" and "new products" pages? I adjusted the columns to 4 for each one in the admin (1.3.7) under Admin --> Index listing-->

New Products Columns per Row 4
Featured Products Columns per Row 4
Special Products Columns per Row 4

And.... still I get them one product per row and it's all scrunched with the quantity form rather than the button. I wanted those also in columns like the other areas of my cart. If anyone has any clues, please let me know. I'm also wondering if the designer boxes could resolve that issue, but don't know if there would be a conflict with this module - now that I have it working (sort of)? I'd like to try it...looks nice and clean.

Zen Gods, please share your wisdom. :-)

New Products Columns per Row 4
Featured Products Columns per Row 4
Special Products Columns per Row 4The Column Layout Grid is only written for the main product-listing.
It has no effect on the All/Featured/New/Special products pages.
You would have to write a complete new set of modules for those pages, as they are currently displayed using very different methods.

The "columns per row" numbers that you set are only affecting how many items show per row in the centerboxes for new/featured/special that show below the main product and category section.

Oh...I see. Thanks. I may already know the answer to this but I'll ask anyway...Is there something out there that will allow the columns in those areas? It looks really weird to not have columns in the All/Featured/New/Special and yet have them everywhere else. If not, it's likely I may just remove them from being displayed until a better solution comes along.

Thanks as always for your help.

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

I had problems too until I noticed that I had changed css .back properties. As default it is .back {float: left;}. Changed .back to the default and now everything seems to be working fine.

Re: Column Layout Grid for Product Listing for 1.3.7

I have this working on my site...however the columns are not centered. I know I need to work in the css file to fix them, but where?
Thanks!
