Different images of a product for different languages?

Hi,

We've added free podcasts to our site to teach Spanish and English. We sell a language guide in Spanish/English (it's one product that contains both languages). If the user has selected 'Spanish' as their language when shopping at our site, then I'd like to display the image of the guide that goes with the 'Por Fin Aprende Ingles' podcasts. In contrast, if the user is shopping in English, then I want to display the image for the guide that goes with the 'Finally Learn Spanish' podcasts.

I've read Linda's guide on adding more than one image but I don't know if there's an easy way to display the image associated with a product depending on the shopper's language?

images based on language is not built into Zen Cart for Products ...

You would have to do quite a bit of customization for that to work ...

What about multi-lingual sideboxes? Possible? Where would you tie in to the language that is selected to trigger a spanish sidebox instead of English?

If you change the language ... it affects the sideboxes languages too ...

I am not quite sure what it isn't doing for you that you need? :unsure:

I neglected to include that I've created two custom sideboxes. :(

Should that work with some tweaking or ?

If you follow the pattern of the sideboxes and language files and have everything cloned from one language to the other things should work ...

Where do I override a sidebox?

/includes/templates/custom/sideboxes/spanish/

or

/includes/templates/custom/spansih/sideboxes/

I'm confused. :(

I'm very excited because I think I got a solution!!! :smile:
I sell DVDs that have a different covers in English and German so I need 2 different pictures for each product.

I just changed the Image directory in includes/configure.php #13 into

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', $_GET[language].'/images/');
```then I created two directories called <zc-home>/de/images and <zc-home>/en/images

Maybe there is a better way to do that, but this one is very quick!
I would like to use the words "german" and "english" instead but I could not find the names of the variables for them. I would appreciate if you tell me! 

I have almost no experience with PHP and am very new to Zen Cart but just tried to understand the logic.:clap:

maybe there will be some other things I need to change as well (that I'm not seeing now), so I appreciate your help...

my problem is that the popup to enlarge the pictures doesn't work any more. I'm looking for the javascript file to edit it. Where is it?
Who has a tip?
