Foriegn Addresses that have no State/Province

Most of the Foreign Addresses I ship to contain no State/Province, the address in usually just a city and country. Most people simply type in the city twice, is there a way around this?, without affecting USA addresses (state required), and still give the option for a entering a foreign State/Province, but not have it have a required "*" next to the new field?

I have set the state/prov to a minimum of 0 characters, still a java script pops up stating that the state requires 0 characters. I cannot find a way to remove the "" from the new field created when a non-USA country is selected from the dropdown, with out getting rid of "" entirely (Both USA and Foreign) from State/Province (english.php)

The * is not dynamically generated. It's on or off, via the language file, as you mentioned.

If you wish to have the javascript alert to stop warning on 0-length fields, you can try merging the jscript_form_check.php for the create_account page into the one for the login page.

I'm having the same issue - and, although I appreciate your reply, I'm not very well knowledged in Java or php - so can you walk me through the process?

We can't be the only 2 using ZenCart that have this problem...

Nope, here's a 3rd with the same issue. Did you find an easy way?

I'm also having sorta similar problems.

my store is in Bangkok and i would like to give free shipment in Bangkok area...but need to charge in other cities.
For this purpose i'm using zone. To use zone i need to use province /state . So i don't need the city field in the address details.

Is it possible to show drop down list of cities in the city field? and use it in the zone?

otherwise,how do i get rid of "city" field?
or you have better idea?

I have the same problem.

I need to remove the attribute "mandatory" from "State/Province" and "Telephone".
