Help Needed Urgently... Newbie

Hi

I'm new to Zen Cart and let me say it is fantastic :lookaroun

I have installed the blue_sky template and all seemed to be going well until i tried to change the colors.

I managed to change the images in the site of the new template to what i wanted :-)

But now im trying to change colors i.e the bars down side and the bar under the sideboxes.

When i try to change things in the templates css file nothing seems to happen.

Can anyone help????
