Bestsellers

I have an online bookstore. Is it possible to have the Bestsellers list calculate only the total number of sales for the past 7 or 10 days?

The default list EVERYTHING sold from day one, which can be misleading because older books released a year ago will always have more total sales than the newer items.

You would need to write your own sidebox to utilize the orders and orders_products tables and compute the best sellers over your time period vs the cummlative counter in the products table ...

Otherwise, you might consider ... do you use the products_ordered field for anything else?

If not, reset the value to zero everyweek ... or whenever you want to update the counter ...
