maybe you guys can help

My friend has a site to which he created a dealer site... he perfected the main site then upload all the overides to the dealer site.. He ALSO saved the database in the main site and uploaded it to the dealer site.. So now... everything he does on each site.. affects the other as well.. His intention was simply to save work and duplicate everything he did.. I dont know how to fix it.... does anyone know how to help? I am assuming the direction for the database leads to the original base and that is why even tho he uploaded it to another base.. it is still being directed to the original... or maybe not... ? anyway.. thanks in advance... cause he is calling me and calling me and calling me... so :) thanks :D

In uploading the files from on site to the other he has probably also copied the includes/configure.php and admin/includes/confure.php files and so both sites are pointing into the same database. This would explain why any change made on one site would seem to appear on the other.
