Increasing or decreasing prices by category

For example can I increase or decrease sale prices by 20% by catergory or sub-catergory?? It's too much work by individual item on a large ecomm site. Thanks!!

Re: Increasing or decreasing prices by category

As a temporary change or permanent change?

Do you use Linked Products?

Re: Increasing or decreasing prices by category

I want to increase or decrease prices by catergory when needed - what does temporary or permanent have to do with it?? The products are not linked other than catergory and subcatergory.

Re: Increasing or decreasing prices by category

My question was in reference to, if the products_price is 10.00 and you increase it by 10% ... later, when you next change it, do you ever need to know it was 10.00 or is the next change based on the new products_price?

Also, if you do not use Linked Categories, then the master_categories_id always matches the Products categories_id that you want to make the change for ...

This would allow you to make changes based on the field master_categories_id and increase/decrease the products_price by an amount or a percentage without a lot of work ...

Then the changes could take place in either phpMyAdmin with an UPDATE statement or via the Install SQL Patches under the Tools menu option ...

I am quite sure the quick updates mod does exactly what you are looking for Shadow

http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&cPath=40_41&products_id=101

(it does not select by master_categories_id though, so linked products show up in all their linked categories, this should not be difficult to change though if really needed )

  1. Nope. Documentation is very limited.

  2. I don't expect any problems with 1.3.7 (will test soon), but I advise to always backup your database before usage (actually mainly because user errors are far more dangerous).
