Installing on pre-existing site and scared to death - HELP

I'm very new to all this and although I consider myself smarter than average, I am also 7 1/2 months pregnant and not much is making sense to me, so please forgive me if these seem like dumb questions

I purchased a web template from ALLWEBCO.COM which I LOVE and it was setup with a paypal cart - which I hate. PayPal carts are cheezy looking and you hardly have any control over shipping and there is no catalog for products. My web site is up and running with a few minor little changes I have not figured out how to do yet, but at least it's there.

I want to seamlessly integrate Zen Cart into my site and replace the old PayPal cart system. I am hosted at Lunarpages and they said they do support Zen Cart but the installation instructions are conflicting with yours and it is making it very hard for me to understand and I am scared to death I'm going to screw it all up.

Will Zen Cart allow me to seamlessly integrate the shopping cart with my pre-existing website and can you offer detailed explanation on how to install it? I don't want the shopping cart to come up on my main index page because it is a flash intro, is there a way to install the Zen Cart in just the "shopping area" of my web site? I hope I am making sense...

Worse cast scenario, if this turns out to be too difficult for me to do, is there anyone out there that could install this for me for a small fee? I want to try to do this on my own, but if I can't and there is a way to ask someone to do it so I don't go into labor over it, that would be great too.

Thanks :-)

Not in the way that I think you are suggesting here.

The recommended solution here is to style Zen Cart to look like another site and then use only Zen Cart.

It can be installed in a folder below the root or in a sub-domain and your choice.

You can use your flash as the the root access page.

Re: Installing on pre-existing site and scared to death - HELP

Having purchased a Template myself from ALLWEBCO.COM, I'm familiar with the coding they use. Their Themes are intended to be a stand-alone site with link code for PayPal purchasing. As you know, although easy to setup and use, the PayPal coding is very limiting.

If you want to incorporate ZenCart into a theme, any theme, then the Template doesn't matter. All coding must start at square one and is a basic Theme rewrite, to combine the Theme with ZenCart. For that you should post in the Commercial section of this Forum. Be prepared though, to spend a ballpark area of $200 for what you want done. Although pricing will vary, so will the experience of people offering to do the job and the type of work they can do.

The learning is in the doing.
