Changing text color in customer login boxes?

I'm using a template and have looked and looked in my stylesheet.css for the location of the code to change the text color in the text boxes from white to black. The text box background color is yellow and white just doesn't show up on it. I found the location of the password box, but not the other fill in boxes. Which code do I change and where do I put it? Here's my page:

http://fantasyrealmcreations.com/store/index.php?main_page=login

I'd also like to change the annoying bright blue text for "Returning Customers: Please Log In" to something else. What code and where does it go?

Sorry to be a bother if this has been asked a gazillion times! I really do try to figure this stuff out by myself but I keep getting stuck. hehe :blush:

Re: Changing text color in customer login boxes?

Can't see either of these problems Michelle. Have you already resolved them?

Re: Changing text color in customer login boxes?

Hi,

If this was resolved please clue me in. I am working on a new template and the background is dark and the font color is set to white, for now, and nothing is showing up in the boxes when you try to input information. None of the log in boxes or add to cart quantity buttons, etc. How do I change the color for the form boxes?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Changing text color in customer login boxes?

Yes, I figured it out. I managed to change the text boxes to white and the text to black. That's not what I was going for, but it's readable now. I'm not sure exactly WHY it changed the way it did, but I do know the code I edited.

Kelly, are you working from scratch or from a free contributed template? I know just enough code to be a danger to myself but I'd be happy to take a look.

Re: Changing text color in customer login boxes?

thank you for your answer. I need to actually change the text color of the form so that it can be seen. I can see the text in the input form, but not the form field names.

Re: Changing text color in customer login boxes?

I can't answer for your site, as you haven't given us a link to it, but for the site that started this post, the form text has simply inherited the color set for the body tag (line 11 of the stylesheet) and used right across the site except for links or other specially-colored tags.

Re: Changing text color in customer login boxes?

Ah. Now I understand. From the ridiculous extent to which the divs are nested in this template, I assume that it comes from Template Monster, so sadly this will just be the first of many problems that you will have.

To solve this one though, just add the following to your stylesheet> label.checkboxLabel, label.radioButtonLabel, label.inputLabel {

color: pink;

}OK, you can choose another color if you prefer :smile:

Re: Changing text color in customer login boxes?

msmahoganey:

thanks for your all of your help. Are you trying to tell me that template monster is no good?No. Template Monster design great-looking templates and should get credit for that. The problem is that they implement them very poorly.

They stuck with old fashioned approaches such as nested tables for a long time, before converting to divs, and now use divs as though they were nested tables, which rather misses the point, and makes their templates unnecessarily difficult to customize and upgrade.

Other customers in this forum have also complained that they sometimes hard-code specific products into parts of the template, which may make their demos look good, but creates problems when a customer starts loading their own products.

Finally, their work simply doesn't validate. If you run their demo of the template you bought through the W3C validator it returns 90 errors. Though to be fair this is one of the better templates, as the errors are less serious than most (indeed it's mostly one error, they just keep making it over and over!).
