No Paypal account, no return to site.

I've searched but can't find this exact problem.

If a customer has a paypal account and pays, they automatically return to my shop.
If they pay and don't have a paypal account they dont get returned unless they click on a small link right down the bottom of the paypal site. Which is ridiculous as no one sees/does it! Therefore their cart doesn't get emptied. We are getting the order notifications from zen and paypal though.

Is this normal or can something be done about it? All settings are correct on zen and paypal.

What version of Zen Cart and which PayPal module are you using?

Zencart V 1.3.6 and Paypal IPN.

Doesn't seem you can edit your posts. I was just wondering if it's because I have the default set as processing rather than pending, does anyone know?

Order Status in Zen Cart doesn't matter.

In your PayPal profile settings, you can set the Auto Return to "on", which should automatically take customers back to your site.

Auto return is on. All settings are correct. I just found out that Paypal doesn't automatically return customers to your site if they don't have a paypal account.

Really disappointed in that. Seems there's a huge icon telling them to sign up for paypal and right at the bottom is a small link, return to merchant. You have to scroll right down to see it.

Seeing as we're the ones paying to use Paypal it should be sign up icon at the bottom and a link back to our site where customers can see it at the top or be auto returned anyway. :frusty:
