banners not showing up - have tried all the usual things

hi there

I am having a frustrating time with the banners. I have done everything correctly (as far as I know):

• configured in Admin/Config/Layout Settings
• turned on sidebox
• added image and info to Banner Mgr

I am trying to get two different banners to come up - one in the left sidebox and one in the Footer Position 2.

The sidebox heading is showing up in the left sidebox but no banner and nothing at all is showing in the footer position.

I am still working on my store but you can see it here:

The strange thing is that the system thinks that it is showing the banners quite fine because the display counts in the Banner Mgr keep going up and up. If I am very quick I can sometimes see the link text come up in the right spot and very quickly disappear again.

Does anyone please know what I can do about this? It is bugging the hell out of me! :)

Sounds like you have Norton Security or something running ... I see banner sideboxes ...

Move the banner images into a directory called:
/images/zencart

Set the directory to 777

Reset the images in your Banner Manager ...

Do you see them now?

oh thank you so much! I don't have nortons but it must be something else similar because I did what you said and it all works fine now. a bit of tweaking with display and it is just how I want it!

Might have to change the defaults on new installs to fix this issue for others who do not know this ...
