Sitemap showing links that are turned off.

I have the pages I don't want in my sideboxes set to 3 under the define page status. However, there's no option to turn off specials and reviews on there even though it's not in the sidebox anyways. The problem is it's showing up in the sitemap and it looks bad since those pages are empty. I even turned privacy status to 3 and sitemap is still showing it. I searched the forums and it said to comment out the links but I'm not sure exactly how that's done.

I looked at the php guide and it said to use // in lines I don't want but it doesn't work and actually displays the // in the sitemap. What am I doing wrong? Here's what I did.

li><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ADVANCED_SEARCH) . '">' . PAGE_ADVANCED_SEARCH . '</a>'; ?></li>
<li><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_PRODUCTS_NEW) . '">' . PAGE_PRODUCTS_NEW . '</a>'; ?></li>
<li><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_SPECIALS) . '">' . PAGE_SPECIALS . '</a>'; ?></li>
//<li><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_REVIEWS) . '">' . PAGE_REVIEWS . '</a>'; ?></li>
//<li><?php echo BOX_HEADING_INFORMATION; ?>
<ul>
<li><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_SHIPPING) . '">' . BOX_INFORMATION_SHIPPING . '</a>'; ?></li>
//<li><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_PRIVACY) . '">' . BOX_INFORMATION_PRIVACY . '</a>'; ?></li>

Here is how it looks on my site:

Thanks!

When in HTML you use HTML comments ... when in php you use php comments ...

Try using HTML comments:

<!-- blah blah blah -->
