Changing Text color for 'display only' value

Is there possibly a way to make it so i can change the color for the display only values that i have for certain items.

this is my scenario.

Im going to be selling shoes, and some shoes arent available in certain sizes sometimes, so i would set them so they have all the sizes, and have the sizes that arent available be marked as 'display only' values. the problem is that nobody else knows which value is 'display only' until they try using that value, and then they get that error message stating that it was an invalid option. so what i need is to be able to 'gray' the font of the display only values, to hint that those are unavailable at the time, but is a value that the shoe might come in eventually?

make any sense?

(if it is supposed to show uphow i want it too, and i edited my css wrong, just state so, and please tell me how to fix it)

While this can be done it is not a simple matter of a few lines of altered code and most probably why you have had little response. This is also not an item that can be addressed in a forum help exchange due to the complexity. There willo be checking if there are attributes and checking the inventory etc. And stock-bt attributes is not a native feature of Zen Cart in the current release to date and this would be required to even have a chance at attempting to gray these out.
