shipping catastrophe

Since upgrading, the shipping is not being charged on orders with 2 items - one shipping and the other downloadable.

Downloadables set up:

Product is Virtual: Yes, Skip Shipping Address
Always Free Shipping: Yes, Always Free Shipping
Products Quantity Box Shows: No, Do not show Quantity Box

Shippable Item set up:

Product is Virtual: No, Shipping Address Required
Always Free Shipping: No, Normal Shipping Rules
Products Quantity Box Shows: Yes, Show Quantity Box

Please advise.

We are version 1.3.6
Using USPS shipping Module

testing...

one shippable - shipping is added....

add a downloadable to the order... free shipping $0.00 added

add another downloadable to the order ... shipping is added

it is like every other product the shipping goes back to free.....

I guess we didn't run in to this problem before upgrading to 1.3.6.

We have always had our downloadables as virtual and free shipping cuz they are all that way....

Please define

VIRTUAL (is that for a service only? and not downloadable?)

Downloads are not Virtual ...

The Free shipping is calculated based on various settings ...

Because it is removing 1 for Virtual and 1 for Always Free Shipping and 1 for Download ... oh wait that would be 3 ... :eek:

So you are confusing the calculations ...

Dowloads are NOT Virtual

Downloads are NOT Always Free Shipping

Downloads are just setup as a Product ...

The fact that there is a download attached to the Attribute is all that it takes to indicate that it is Free Shipping ...

Virtual Products - GIFT Certificates, Services, etc.

Always Free Shipping - You want to never charge shipping and let the customer know about it ... so if using any shipping module regardless of item, weight or price ... don't count this one in and just do it for Free (needs Free Shipping freeshipper installed for when sold by itself)

Thanks for the update that using the proper settings on your products was able to fix your shipping errors on the calculations of Downloads, Virtual Products and Always Free Shipping ... :smile:

Mixing these settings can have very odd and unexpected results ... :lamo:
