Adjust product layout in list

Hi,

I want to match:
http://www.danddflorists.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4

To:
http://www.rhodestoheaven.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4

I'm doing the huge upgrade from 1.26 to 1.37 and I'm just a little stuck on altering how the product blocks are manipulated. I've searched the docs and other threads as much as I can with no luck. I know I can change the layout using css but my css skills aren't particularly strong. I have:

.listingDescription {

position:relative;

top:15px;
width:350px;
text-align:left;

}

as I thought this might move the description below the image but it still won't jump down and across to the left.

I've added a 'float:left;' to the img tag with no luck.

OK - I've now migrated the site over and moved the old site to the temp address so I now want to match:

http://www.rhodestoheaven.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3

to:

http://www.danddflorists.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3

so the 2nd is how I'd like the 1st one to look if this all makes sense.

Did you turn off the left column sideboxes? I do not see any ??

admin > config > layout settings

or

admin > tools > sidebox layout controller

Mmm - they are there (category and information) - you may have seen the site whilst I was fiddling with it).
