Possible to FTP product items in bulk?

Is it possible to FTP product items in bulk?

I'm working on a book seller site. The product items catalog is large, and entering each product individually will be very time consuming task.

If FTP of the complete catalog of items is out of reason is it possible to put up a couple hundred or so at a time?

Because the product details are not files but are DataBase entries you can not use FTP to do this. Check in the download archives for the ezpopulate module
