Google Site Map Ping not working.

I have installed this mod and it went well no errors. but when I ping my site map to google and then check my google account No site map has been added. Do I have to add this manually? any one else having issues with their ping?

Did you add your sitemap to google sitemaps? You have to set up with Google first. Go to
https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps and get started. Once you're done that then you can use the automagic ping stuff.

sorry to be so blonde, do you mean the site map that is standard on Zencart or another one? :D

Andre's great contribution makes a series of "google sitemap" files which have the extension ".xml". They are separate from the Zen "sitemap," which is a human oriented file generated using the Zen Framework and your template.

To introduce Google to your sitemap files (generated by Andre's mod), you have to register with Google, you'll have to transfer a special file that shows that you own the site, etc. Follow the link I gave you and you'll see how to do it.

OK I got help from someone else. This is what you will need to do is..

1---- Open your Admin (Zen Admin) TOOLS -- GOOGLE XML SITEMAP
2 --- CLICK ON STEP 1 - let the admin do its thing.
3- NOW IF YOU LOG INTO YOUR CPANEL AND LOOK THE ROOT FOLDER
see that there are three folders with an xml extension? dont delete them!
4 ----- Log into google ( you can do this in the admin on the right side of the tools----google xml sitemap area)
5 -- your going to add a sitemap now.
6 --- Click on Add a sitemap and create these files.. (these are the files that are in the root folder that the admin just created for you when you clicked on Step 1)

Http://www.yoursite.com/sitemapcategories.xml
Http://www.yoursite.com/sitemapproducts.xml
Http://www.yoursite.com/sitemapindex.xml

Add each one, three of them. Wait for a few hours and it should be added.

I hope this helps others installing this. I didnt find these instructions anywhere! I wish someone adds it to the download file for the mod.

Do not make this mistake!!! You must add only one file - sitemapindex.xml!!! RTFM!!!
