Nochex stock levels and confirmation email

Hi,

I've just installed nochex and it seems to be working fine apart from two things.

Zencart doesn't reduce the stock level if someone pays this way, if you pay by paypal it does.

Also there doesn't seem to be any payment confirmation to the customer from nochex. I also don't get a confirmation of the order from zencart but it shows in the admin.

Can anyone help please.

1/ - this could be an APC issue - is APC enabled on your account?
2/ - what sort of Nochex account do you have? Seller/Merchant?

I think it probably is the APC not being enabled on my nochex account, have just emailed them. Hopefully this will sort it.

I just have a seller account at the moment to see how it goes. No point paying for merchant account until I see whether customers are going to use it regularly :smile:

If these confirmations are not being sent, there must be something amiss, so please send a support ticket with as much info as possible to Nochex.

Could you please PM me with the URL for your store, I will check that your payment links are being correctly generated and that your APC script is available. Do you have access to your web server logs so you can see if Nochex are attempting to make a call back after each payment? You should see at least one connection from 62.105.93.124 (nochex-fw.cust.pipex.net) shortly after each test payment is made.

Yes, it's fine. My partner pretended to be a customer and all was ok, he received the confirmations straight away. I didn't receive any confirmations from zencart or nochex until about 4hrs later. Think my email server is slow today, normal emails are taking ages to get through too today.

I've seen loads of those connections in the 'who's online' but they're all on a time out page :huh: We tried the nochex payment twice and that was 4hrs ago and that IP is still showing up even now, duplicated about 5 times at the same time.

It sounds like the APC script on your site isn't responding to Nochex correctly. What happens if you access the URL for the APC script in your browser? (eg. http://your.site.name/zencart/nochex_apc_handler.php )

When I try that, there's no such page. Maybe I'm missing a nochex file.
All I can see through ftp is two nochex.php files in seperate payment folders.

In the error logs, nothing is showing for the nochex ip.

I am quite a newbie on zencart so need clear instructions.

nochex_apc_handler.php is a required file for the module to work properly. It should be put in the main directory for your store. If you would like me to take a look at your site for you, just let me know the URL.

I sent you a PM yesterday with URL. Not sure what you mean by main directory, need exact instructions where to put it and more importantly, where do I get the file from? The nochex.php I have is dated 2004!

Apologies, I hadn't noticed your message. Do you have the new Nochex mod installed? Currently Zen's built-in Nochex support is quite bare and doesn't support adjusting stock levels etc. The files I have mentioned are included in the new payment module.

The nochex I do have does adjust stock levels, all that doesn't seem to work is the callback from nochex and they're getting a time out page.
I don't think that is the nochex module I'm using. I thought I read people are having problems getting that module to work?

The nochex files I do have are dated 2004. I don't suppose it would work if I just added the apc handler file from the new mod to the one already installed?

I think I may get my web hosting people to do it for me. I'm not confident with adding a new mod myself. The web host do all that for me if I need them too.

You do need to install the new mod for complete functionality. It may be a good idea to ask your web host if they ar eprepared to do it, otherwise if you are interested please PM me, our company does fixed rate Nochex integrations.

My webhost will do it but there's a problem with the module and it doesn't work properly, they tested it last night. There is another thread on this apparently.

The mod your post links to seems similar to the version dated 20th December (in the forum downloads section) that has a file missing.

Line 234 in includes/modules/payment/nochex_apc.php requires a file called 'nochex_apc_admin_notification.php':

The mod will process a payment to NoChex, but the missing file prevents it from displaying the transaction details on the customer's order page in admin.

Unfortunately Pixxi, I believe that MxG is the developer of the module so the link he has provided 'should' be the correct version but this is also the same version (v1.1) in the downloads section marked 20th Dec.
I don't really feel as though we are getting anyway with this module at the minute!!

Apologies to anyone affected by the mentioned bugs. I've been really busy over the past week, however I'll be fixing these problems in the next few days. I confess I hadn't noticed the include error, I had error reporting set quite tolerantly on my test machine so it was (and is) working for me. If this is causing the mod to not work for some people, you can safely remove the line that attempts to include nochex_admin_notification.php (this file is present in the PayPal mod but I have not yet made use of it).

OK, I've just been doing some testing on this and everything works fine!! There are a couple of things to note though:

• Line 254 needs commenting out in the file /includes/modules/payment/nochex_apc.php This caused an error when viewing the order in Admin and is not needed.
• A TEST transaction will NOT callback to your site OR update stock levels. This happens in LIVE transactions ONLY!I've finished testing now as I'm happy with it and I'm going to install it on my live site!
