Bookstores hosted in Zen Cart
I'm trying to locate a list of bookstore sites built using Zen Cart. If you could reply to this post with a URL of the store, that would be great!
Thanks

There are several listed in the Zen Cart Showcase. Link at the top of the page.

Is there still a bookstore mod/template available? I saw it referenced on several other threads (bookstore 125, 126) but I could not find anything in the downloads section.
I'm a noob with zen cart, my server came with oscommerce but I'd prefer Zen because it's easier to navigate through.
I'm wanting upgrade my online bookstore to a mysql style database and I'm hoping to find posts regarding special fields for booksellers.... i.e. ISBN, publishers, genre, etc.
And most important: Does Zen cart have limitations on stock? Can it handle 20,000 different items? Thanks.

If your server can handle it, so can Zen Cart ...
As to the add-on, peek in the Downloads and there should be an associated thread in the Contributions forum ...

I'm working on this, but there's quite a learning curve for me as I'm a noob as far as ecommerce format.
Bookstores (at least antiquarian bookstores) mainly use an external database for their inventory. This is done for several reasons, but the biggest is because an online bookseller needs to be listed in more than just a simple website... they need to use services like PowerSeller, ebay, half.com, Alibris, Abes, Amazon, etc., which sucks because all of those services cut into profit margins.
Most booksellers use what's called UIEE format or also CSV format for their inventory (BookTrakker, Homebase, Prager etc.). We're kind of unique because we basically have just one of a particular item to sell... and we have lots of items, lots of publishers, lots of authors, etc. There is also the aspect of additional search fields that a typical store doesn't require.
I can provide a database dump of items such as a file containing about 6000 Publisher names if this is needed by anyone. I'm thinking that if we can insert this into the database into the required fields, then it would save some typing.
