Spanish / Español para Zen Cart 1.3.7

Hi all,

I would like to translate into spanish for v1.3.7, but formal spanish, although I am not native speaker.

Please can anybody indicate me if v1.3.6 can be used or not, so I don't waste time in translating...Thanks all..

Quisiera traducir v1.3.7 en espanol, pero en espanol formal, aunque no es mi idioma maternal.

Por favor alguien me puede indicar si la v1.3.6 es compatible así no pierdo tiempo en traducir...

Sorry my request maybe is not clear.
I am just not sure whether I can use the translation made for v1.3.6 also for v1.3.7...
During comparing the spanish files between v1.3.6 and v1.3.7 some were different, this is why I had teh doubts...

Anyway I started to translate/change my own version, which doesn't mean that v1.3.6 is wrong or bad, it is quite the contrary. It is just that few things I would say different, which also doesn't mean that I am right. Most of the translation was very good and most important for me that it is the first I found in formal spanish...

It looks like these are the only language files that were change in 1.3.7

I would say it's safe to use the 1.3.6 language pack as long as you go back and compare the language files that did change.

We are working in the spanish translation for 1.3.7 in zencartes.com (the ZenCart spanish community). We will start translating formal spanish first.

PROBLEMS with Spanish pack!! I have been struggling with the aforementioned Spanish Pack for a few months now. Everywhere I look I find incomplete DEFINEs and proprietary information for GORKA URRUTIA in the php files. Example below. Can someone PLEASE validate that a future Spanish pack DOES NOT include information like this. I can be very misleading to people that do not speak the language and think they can just upload these files and have their site tranlsated into full <insert language here>.

It would be a shame for someone to do this and have their money wired to someone else's account (see below!)

I noticed that there is a Spanish Language Pack 1.3.7 contribution by Jorge.
My zen-cart development site is https://www.aaadisplaygroup.net
We are using zencart 1.3.7 and the applezen template.
We are ready to install the Spanish language pack but I have not seen any feedback to know if the Spanish pack is actually funcitonal. Do you have any experience with it? I went to your website but the only version that is listed is the 1.3.6.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I installed the spanish language pack 1.3.7 and it seems to work smoothly. Thank you Jorge! There are may things that need to be edited and buttons to be added for my site but that was expected.
I will be completing the english side and making the appropriate changes to the spanish side as time permits. Can the spanish language opton be tured off when I am not working on it? The options are "EDIT" or "DELETE" and delete is scary!

Hi, we installed the Spanish language pak in our ZenCart version 1.3.7 earlier this year... twice. The second time I got it right. It seems to work fine. On all of the Category pages and Item Description pages there are boxes to enter information in Spanish. But not on the Main page. Any idea how to handle that? We have text in Spanish for the main page, where do I put it so that it will appear when the visitor selects the Spanish language?

Wow... never mind... I figured it out! I went into includes, languages, spanish, html includes, and finally classic. There is a file called define_main_page.php that is empty, so I pasted in the Spanish text that someone sent us yesterday, and it works!

Hello every one,

I installed the spanish language package just last weekend, and I see that when I switch to the spanish, there is an extra search box ontop of "Productos" on the top header. It should not be there, plus is not even working, it is just there. I tried to get rid of it, but so far I have not found an answer.

Can some one help this individual!

ERROR IN SPANISH.PHP file causing
"Fatal error: Cannot redeclare zen_date_raw()"

Hi,
I thought I would add this info about a fault in the Spanish language pack 1.37 by Jorge.

If \includes\languages\spanish.php is copied into the custom template directory to be edited, when changing from English to Spanish when using the custom template the site crashes giving the above error.

I found two faults

1. the file has been edited to change the date of birth to non-US dd/mm/yyyy format but the other \admin\includes\languages\spanish.php file was left in US mm/dd/yyyy format
2. the structure of the zen_date_raw declaration is in the pre 1.3 format without an overall “if” operator. (See the english.php to compare)

Despite copying and pasting the english segment of code to the spanish file it still would not work.

However after changing all the necessary code in both files to use the dd/mm/yyyy format as detailed in this superb post:

the fault was fixed.

do either of these have issues and which one is better to have?

This "1.37" pack is fairly complete although the code indicates its 1.35 with 1.36 extra declarations added later.
I am currently editing it and a few pages are missing text and images to comply with 1.38a but apart from the error I found in my previous post it works ok.

I would like to provide an update to it but don't hold your breath...

I would not go for the translation by Google, its ok for text but can't cope with specialised product descriptions: in the example website what it comes out with using spanish is ludicrous.

are you saying that the sample site is not accurate for that mod? it is the only reason why I was considering it. the sample site for this mod didn't come out in Spanish...only some text but not all. I will have to search for more who have used to see how they like it...maybe you will have an update by then....:D if not, something is better than nothing.

Hi. For the Spanish Language pack available in the Downloads section for the version v1.3.8 it's missing one file.
It's the spanish.php file located in admin/includes/languages/. Without it the admin section can't be translated.

I could only translate just some things, not the whole file.
I would appreciate some collaboration to translate the whole file and after, updating the spanish translation pack in downloads section with this new file.
