Colour of text in New products for header

Hi

Please can anyone help me. I want the colour of text on the New Products for header across the main page to be white not black. I can find where I can physically alter the words of the text but cannot find the code for the colour. I cant see it anywhere in the css either.

Site can be viewed at www.helshopcrafts.co.uk

Want to change the colour of featured items text as well as at the moment they are both unreadable.

Thanks

H

Re: Colour of text in New products for header

just add the following to your stylesheet> .centerBoxHeading {color:white}

As an aside it seems rather brave to design a site with a fixed widh of 1250 pixels. Latest available screen resolution statistics from W3 Schools suggest that only 19% of internet users have screen resolutions greater than 1024px, and fewer still will always open their browser windows to be full-screen.

Re: Colour of text in New products for header

The Main Heading affected by the code styling that you having is that which says (currently) "New Products For February". As this is white, you must mean be referring to something. I can think of several candidates - could you narrow the field down for me?

There are a handful of sideboxes whose headings are nested inside an h3 tag and then a label tag inside. This is unfortunate when font sizes are expressed in ems as their effects are cumulative through each layer of wrapping. To bring the Search heading back down to the same size as the others, you need to over-ride the font-size. Adding

#searchHeading label {font-size:1.1em; color:white}

to your stylesheet should deal with both font size and color.

To turn the category links at the top of the page off, go to Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings and set "Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF" to 0 (=OFF)

Re: Colour of text in New products for header

Pop the following fairly low down in your stylesheet> #navMain ul li a {color:white}

Ideally you'd remove the place where it is currently being set to black as well (line 277 of your stylesheet).

Re: Colour of text in New products for header

Hi
Wonder if you can help me again. I am working on a new site www.hgfurniture.co.uk and cannot figure out where to change the text in the header on the side boxes. I am sure I have changed it to white but still seems to be coming up in the blue.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Re: Colour of text in New products for header

They're picking up the default text color for your whole site set for the body tag.

I'd recommend finding this block of styleing (around line 539 of your stylesheet)> .leftBoxHeading, .centerBoxHeading, .rightBoxHeading {

background-color:#ABBBD3;
background-image:url(../images/tile_back.gif);
margin:0em;
padding:0.5em 0.2em;

}and adding color:white

But at least it's written in a language that resembles English and not one of the thousands of other world languages available :clap:
