Upgraded from 1.2.6 to 1.3.7 images disappeared

Hi everyone!

I am in the process of getting the store into working order before I make it live. I imported my DB with no problems, but my images are gone even though in the admin section they show as being there. AND all of my downloads are not there. What happened? I can upload them all again, but shouldn't they automatically be there?

I am almost ready to go live, but my challenge remains with getting the custom template to have side boxes. I'm not sure why it doesn't know. I don't want to change anything in the side boxes at the moment; I just want them there. Do I need to create a directory in my custom folder and copy a specific file over? I am a bit confused. :)

By the way, I have been reading the FAQs. I found a FAQ talking about the side boxes. In my other store (the Wild Child Publishing one), I didn't have to copy any files to my custom template to have the side boxes appear. I prefer to change as few files as possible. I don't have problems changing, but just prefer to leave them as they are if I can. :)

I should probably mention that I am using classic right now. Yes, I know I'm not supposed to change it, but I have copied all of the changed files into my custom folders in preparation for any more upgrades and really prefer to use the custom template if I can make it work properly.

I have another question, if you can answer it. Once I have all of this figured out, I want to go live. I'm much rather to overwrite everything if possible instead of going through the entire install process again. But how do I do this with the upgraded db? I am pretty savvy with HTML and CSS, but MySQL? No.

I'm seeing your images and sideboxes. Maybe you need to refresh the browser or clear the cache. The site looks fine to me!

You probably don't need the IP and query info at the bottom of the page. You also don't need the "More information" side box in the lower left hand corner since you're linking to the default pages from there. You can turn off the "more information" side box in your admin (under tools -> layout boxes controller).

I had to upload all of the pics again. That's why you can see them. :)

I will switch to my custom template so you can see what I mean. If it's just mine, that's fine, but when I switch to the custom template, the side boxes disappear. I'll show you. :)

I found it, Mary Ellen. It's in the layout boxes. I have to turn them on for this template. :)

I always forget that step and sit scratching my head for a bit before I remember to set that up again! I wish there was a way to copy those settings from one template to another because I like to tinker with templates and see what I can do, but then I have to set the side boxes again when I create a "new" version.

I printed out the page with what was on, what was off, and what column they were in. I am sure that now I am moving everything over, I will probably have to set again. Gah, and I am crossing my fingers that everything goes well. Ten thousand butterflies have just taken flight in my stomach. Once I am done, I will breathe a sigh of relief. Until then, I'll be a bit nervous. LOL Yes, I backed up and backed up again, so I should be okay, but you know how it is.
