Need to Change Location of Footer

The way zen cart comes out of the box, the footer is located at the bottom and spans across the entire mainWrapper. I would like to move it so that it starts next to the bottom of the left column and spans to the right column (or all of the way to the right if the right column is turned off). The NPR website is an example.

Move the call for the footer into the column that holds the main center column in your tpl_main_page.php

I too am looking to change the location of the footer and have found your method to work well, but with one exception...

The footer does not sit at the bottom of the page. It sits directly below the content within contentMainWrapper (I think that's it's correct name).

Is there any way to force the footer to sit at the bottom (of this div)?
