Modifying the Page Counter in Admin

I have a question about the stats for 'hit counter' in the admin. Whenever I visit my webpage the hit counter rises (as it should!). Do you know if there is a way I can block the hit counter from counting the same visitor more than once? (i.e. the counter is based upon unique IP addresses visiting and not on the number of links clicked)?

Not sure about that Gary, I'm sure there's a way. Personally, I don't like people to know how many, or more importantly how few visits my sites get! The admin home page gives you the number of sessions created each day for the last 10 days though.

What you really want I think is a proper set of website stats so you can really see what's going on!
I personally prefer Awstats (awstats.org), since it is open source and one of the best stats packages available open and not.
Cpanel has by default awstats installed and it would have been tracking your stats from day one. If you are hosting yourself or you hoster doesn't have a decent stats pakage then you can always install it, however I think you will need root access for some of the configuration.

Hi Wolf, no you can install it on a per user basis, no root needed
