Some Search Results Show Blank Page. The HTML Output cuts off.

Hi i was wondering if someone could help me...

For this site http://www.greenergardening.com/ some keyword searches show some results while others do not. The page that shows no results stops after the Advanced Search header. For the pages that show result that have multiple pages, clicking page 2, 3 etc. results in the same blank page.

So for example, entering keyword search "green" shows some results. Page 2, 3 etc. of this shows an expty page.

But keyword search "greenhouses" shows no results.

The pages with no results do not show a "No results found" or the Back button. You will actually see that the whole page stops loading HTML after the Advanced Search heading, so not even the right column is shown.

I think its something to do with "tpl_modules_product_listing.php", because removing this line from the "tpl_advanced_search_result_default.php" file results in the whole page loading (but then no results listed of course!).

I have not modified either "tpl_advanced_search_result_default.php" or "tpl_modules_product_listing.php".

Thanks

Laurie

The first thing that I would do is switch to the classic template and check the search function there....if it functions there then this is a template/file issue. If it remains non functional in classic, then suspect a corrupt cart file and as it appears that you have used the override system, you can just use FTP to load a fresh set of files of the same version over the existing files.....use a good FTP client like filezilla that will report any load errors/failures

Re: Some Search Results Show Blank Page. The HTML Output cuts off.

Thanks kobra BUT the client solved it! Or rather we have made it worked but not fixed the actual problem which is a strange one...

She discovered that this occurs when she uploads LARGE images for the products/categories. Large file sizes. She discovered this because a category disappeared from the site when she uploaded a really large image file for that category. So this is very strange in itself. But she re-uploaded smaller, reasonable sized images and the category reappeared and the search results are showing fine. So it seems perhaps the large image size stopped the page loading as all the HTML stopped after the page title.

For info we installed Image Handler 2. But I installed Image Handler 2 after she had already created products and uploaded images. So I do not know if it is linked to this, or whether having Image Handler 2 installed in the first place would have prevented the large image sizes.

Thanks
Laurie

Re: Some Search Results Show Blank Page. The HTML Output cuts off.

We discovered images that the client uploaded that were 600dpi were stopping the page loading with no error. They were not large in filesize, some only a few hundred Kb, but large in resolution. Just the html output would just stop. The Additional Images in Admin would stop also right where the images were to be displayed. They were all Additional Images, the 600dpi ones, and upon deleting these the pages load fine and you can see the main images and any other additional ones in IH2 admin.
