Re: Prefix to ID No.

Will the prefix be that same always?

Re: Prefix to ID No.

Kim is asking whether you only want to display the "prefix" in the admin when printing invoices for customers. I'm guessing you'll end up answering "no" to that question.

If you feel that it's necessary to have a prefix on your order numbers, you will have to manually inject a prefix in several places in the code.

This post shows the concept, although it is an old entry and you will need to adapt it for the newer version of Zen Cart. You will not be able to reply to that post, since it is locked in the archives.

Be sure to use the overrides system when saving your changes.
Your changes will not be automatically retained during an upgrade. You'll have to preserve them manually.

Re: Prefix to ID No.

I have zen 125d and can't for the life of me figure out how to add the prefix to this version .
I checked the post on ...
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13502

I have tried looking for the differences between 124 and 125d to locate where the prefix can be set but I am at a loss :-(

I searched through using the Developers tool kit but the entries seem to be totally different in 125d.. as well as the file structure..

Any help to achieve this would be much welcomed :-)
or even just a few clues :-)

thanks again guys

Re: Prefix to ID No.

For the post you referenced, the only differences between the posted line numbers and v1.2.5 are:

/includes/classes/order.php
806 = 818
815 = 827
889 = 901
895 = 907

/admin/orders.php
77 = 104
85 = 112
287 = 318
609 = 639

Re: Prefix to ID No.

Does anyone know how this can be done in 1.3.7 version. I have 2 shops and I want to prefix the invoice number of each shop so the invoice numbers are not duplicated for accounting purposes.

Regards
laurie

Re: Prefix to ID No.

There's an older archived post based on an older version of Zen Cart, which discusses something similar to what you're after.
Perhaps it might be a starting point for you in making the customizations you'll require:
