How do I show items but not sell them in zencart?

I want to build a showcase of jewellery items that my customer stocks but at the moment he does not want to have them for sale online. He just wants people to see what he sells.

I am sure there is a setting but I am pulling my hair out trying to work out which settings would do this.

We want to be able to show off 200 items of jewellery but no logging in, no way to purchase etc just for the time being. I am sure we will then at a later date want to start selling online.

I was going to just build a website with the items but thought it would be easier to show them in a zencart.

Does all that make sense??

PS I want to stop the catagories from being placed across the top of the page too.

In the admin > config > my store > Store Status > set to "2" or "3"

Start using the search and reading the FAQ's and the wiki as these have been addressed humptine times -

Admin > config > layout settings > categories tabs > set to off
