Wrong Calculations for Int'l Shipping?

I use USPS shipping for my ZenCart and it continues to undercharge my customers for shipping. I would really appreciate help on this because I do a lot of this shipping and am tired of eating up to FOUR-SIX dollars on a sale.

Global Priority is usually less expensive than Airmail Post so I don't know if I should even leave that on as an option. BUt someone just bought a bag from me and somehow clicked GLobal Priority small envelope. Um. $6.00 is not even close.

Global Priority would be 12
Airmail Parcel Post would be 20

So if these are my choices:
GXG Document
GXG Non-Document
Express
Priority Lg
Priority Sm
Priority Var
Airmail Letter
Airmail Parcel
Surface Letter
Surface Post

Which ones do I check to make sure my customers don't get charged 6.00 for shipping. Flat Rate Global Priority alone to Europe is 9.50 so that plus my handling fee of .75 should be the smallest amount they ever get charged. Do I need to create another module to add additional handling to these shipments too?

My website is here:

Thank you!

Re: Wrong Calculations for Int'l Shipping?

I think I might have answered my own question. We'll see if it works. I need to uncheck the envelope-small/large because that's what everyone keeps picking. I'm sticking with the Global Variable weight and that looks like it's pretty close to the accurate shipping. I'll leave on Airmail Parcel so they can at least see that option.

Fingers crossed this does it. I'm tired of eating that money!

Re: Wrong Calculations for Int'l Shipping?

It's just one of those things you can't really figure out until you've been doing it for a while and know how much your products cost to ship. I just needed to create an account and play with it for a while until the least expensive option was the correct one.

Of course a customer will ALWAYS choose the cheapest option even if they know a 3lb bag won't fit in a SMALL envelope.....

Exactly! Sorry that you had to take a few knocks before discovering the secrets. Best of luck on your shop!
