Remove border and background of page

I don't know the name of the border, it is the border separating the white and yellow background in my site.

http://www.hotdealspot.net

Also, when I refesh my site, I see a light blue color background and then the yellow backgound. How to remove the light blue background? Also, the yellow background was loaded after other contents, which is not normal, how to load the background before contents?

Thanks

Re: Remove border and background of page

The blue background color is in your stylesheetjan27.css:

body {
margin: 0;
font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 62.5%;
color: #000000;
background-color: #e5edf5;
background-image: url(../images/header_bg.jpg);
border: none;
}

Just change that from #e5edf5 to the color you'd like, it looks like #D8DD4B would be a good matching color.

And your border is here:

#mainWrapper {
background-color: #ffffff;
text-align: left;
width: 750px;
vertical-align: top;
border: 1px solid #9a9a9a;
}

The background image just takes a second to load, but once it loads once, its fast.

Re: Remove border and background of page

I'd like to use a wallpaper image in place of the colored background. Would these instructions be the same for adding an image and replacing those blue side strips? I do not know the proper structure to get my wallpaper gif to show on the sides.

Thank you

Cheryl

Those "side strips" aren't strips of anything really, they are just the background of the site. So if you want a background image on the entire site, you just add the background image to the body tag like eaglewu had:

body {
margin: 0;
font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 62.5%;
color: #000000;
background-color: #e5edf5;
background-image: url(../images/YOUR_BACKGROUND_IMAGE.jpg);
border: none;
}
