How do i: Setup separate "handling" or other fees?

Hi folks.

I'm just getting into zencart, i've got my test store almost all setup. However, I have one question for now...

I have taxes and two types of shipping (per item and in-store pickup) working properly. However, I have one other type of "handling" fee that I'd like to add to ALL orders no matter the tax rate or shipping type.

Basically, we are charging a flat rate (0.50 USD) + a percentage (3.1%) for every order. We would like this handling fee calculated BEFORE the shipping and taxes are applied, but we are flexible, so if it has to come after the shipping and taxes are applied, that's ok too.

I'd like to have this as a separate line item on the invoice as well.

Is this possible? If so, how do i do this?

You can set use some modules in admin/modules/Order Total

for the percentage part you can use the Low order fee and set up the **Order Fee For Orders Under **to a number that let you be sure that always add the percentage.

Additionally you can use the module COD fee in this section.

Turns out, I ended up writing my own order total module. I turned my own request into a "pass paypal fees onto user" checkout module. So, we're charging the users 0.30 USD + 2.9% on top of everything else if they're paying through paypal (and since paypal is the only payment mechanism we support, that's everyone).

It's a pretty simple module, let me know if anyone is interested in it.
