Need to tax all states

Anybody find any tie in that allows charging every state the correct tax rate? My client has to add taxes across US. Of course I know it can all be done but we would like some automized solution for updates. Since that does exist, has anyone integrated it into zencart?

My company will soon have the same issues. I did some research and there is no simple solution to this. I spent many days searching the web for info and here is what I found out.
I believe there were a few credit card processors that offered options for this but I dont remember which ones, if I can find my notes I will get you that info.
I did find a company through the Streamlined Sales Tax Project that offers this as a paid service called Avalara. (I am not affiliated with this company in any way, just trying to offer some help.) If you go to the SSTP website and look under Certified Service Providers there should be more info there about the company.
In order to use their sales tax service a special zen cart module would have to be written to connect to their site and get the correct sales tax.
If your company decides to go ahead with this I would be very interested to know how it goes.

we have found an inexpensive company who provides an xml feed and I'm about to try to integrate it into zencart. I think what I'm going to do is do a lookup on the zipcode that directly queries their xml database.

The company is http://www.serviceobjects.com/ and I've talked with Jeff Grow there. He's been very helpful and assures me that they absolutely do not change their database so this should be a good solution as long as they stay in business!

Please let us know how it goes integrating it into the cart. I'm willing to bet there are others like us struggling to find a solition to this problem. Even figuring out sales taxes for 2 or 3 states can be a nightmare!

actually I did but it uses a paid service to keep tabs on an up-to-date database. I would have to search to find out who it is we used but it wasn't very expensive.
