Probably a stupid question but how do i back up database?

I've got a message saying files need to be cleared in admin. It says I need to back up database first. How do i do that?

Sorry, I'm new to this!

Thanks!

I use phpmyadmin to accomplish this. Do you have access to your phpmyadmin or another database management system?

If you can get to the dbms then you'd want to choose export. Export the entire database. You will get a bunch of text in SQL. Simply save that text file. That's it. You're backed up.

There is also an add-on that we made in the Downloads ... Admin tools ... Backup MySQL that you can install on your site and will appear under your Tools menu ...

This works with 98% of all servers and is very fast as well as compact ...

You can backup and then download the file to your computer for safe keeping ...
