Approach suggestions 1.3.0.1 to 1.3.7

I would to take the opportunity to redesign my site with the upgrade, so I'm not really concerned about keeping any of the changes I have made. But obviously I want to move the database into a freshly intalled and re-designed 1.3.7 Zencart.

So here are my steps:

• fresh install of 1.3.0.1 in a sub dir (Zentemp)
• Install ad-on modules ( Master password, fedex shipping, and newsletter manager)
• restore my production database into Zentemp
• do the database upgrade
• Install a fresh 1.3.7 and make design changes (Zennew)
• Restore upgraded Zentemp into Zennew
• work the kinks out and go live with Zennew

That is just what I have thought - but I'm open to suggestions.

You can use the Zentemp install and bring it live and not have to do the Zennew step

If it's any help, I recently upgraded a site from 1.2.7 to 1.3.6 and then to 1.3.7 (which was released just as I was finishing up 1.2.7 to 1.3.6) and here's what I did.

1. Install 1.3.7 in a test location.
2. Backup the live database and upload the data to the test cart (just so I'd have products and stuff to work with)
3. Create a new template for the site using the test location
4. When I was done (relative term... I'm still tinkering with it live) with the template, I downloaded the entire thing to my local drive.
5. Took the live store down for maintenance
6. Uploaded the 1.3.7 stuff I'd downloaded in step 4 up to the live site including the zc_install directory
7. Change the config (admin and includes) files to match the live site.
8. Ran zc_install to upgrade the database only (no install necessary)
